Interview with our new President Jordi Bravo
“Leadership is about empowering others”
EYP Spain is proud to announce that preparations are in full swing for Málaga 2025: the Euro-Mediterranean Youth Summit (EMYS), which will take place from 25 October to 2 November 2025 in Málaga, Spain. This prestigious event will mark the 103rd IS.
A Meeting Point for 300 Young Leaders
The summit will bring together 300 young leaders from over 40 countries, including a special delegation from the wider Mediterranean region. For nine days, participants will engage in an intensive programme based on the EYP’s parliamentary model: teambuilding, committee work, and a General Assembly. Through this process, they will develop 15 youth-driven resolutions addressing key challenges for the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Beyond debates, Málaga 2025 will connect participants directly with institutions, experts, and policymakers, including representatives from the Union for the Mediterranean, the European Parliament, UN agencies, and regional authorities.
The Vision: Uniting Shores Through the Tides of Change
The theme of Málaga 2025 is inspired by the idea of Mediterranean unity at a time of global transformation. The summit will highlight three key pillars:
An Educational Experience Beyond Borders
Like all International Sessions of the EYP, Málaga 2025 will be based on the principles of non-formal education, peer-to-peer learning, and active participation. Delegates will not only exchange perspectives on pressing global challenges but also gain essential skills in critical thinking, negotiation, public speaking, and intercultural dialogue.
The methodology includes:
Strong Institutional Support
Málaga 2025 enjoys the patronage and support of leading institutions at the European and local levels. The Board of Honor includes Ursula von der Leyen (President of the European Commission), Roberta Metsola (President of the European Parliament), Francisco de la Torre (Mayor of Málaga), José Santaolalla (Diputación de Málaga), and Pedro Antonio Ramírez (Instituto Andaluz de la Juventud).
In addition, the Union for the Mediterranean, Instituto Europeo del Mediterráneo, Interreg Next Med, and ASCAME (Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry) are already involved as strategic partners.
A Lasting Impact
The impact of Málaga 2025 will go far beyond the nine days of the summit. The resolutions drafted by participants will be shared with policymakers at national and European levels, ensuring that youth voices are heard in debates on the future of the Mediterranean.
A comprehensive final report will also be disseminated to institutions, educators, and the public, contributing to ongoing dialogue on democracy, intercultural exchange, and youth empowerment. The event will be accompanied by a wide-reaching media and social media campaign designed and run by young volunteers, amplifying the visibility of youth perspectives.
Looking Ahead
As the countdown begins, Málaga 2025 promises to be not only an unforgettable educational journey for its participants but also a milestone in strengthening Euro-Mediterranean dialogue. By uniting young leaders, experts, and institutions under one roof, the summit will embody the values of cooperation, solidarity, and active citizenship that the European Youth Parliament has stood for since 1987.
Stay tuned for more updates as Málaga prepares to welcome Europe and the Mediterranean in October 2025.
