Understanding Europe
Understanding Europe is an educational network for and by young people in Europe. We are committed to fostering democracy, diversity and participation.
Understanding Europe Spain is an educational project designed to give students a first insight into European reality through interactive 2- to 4-hour crash courses held in classrooms.
From a non-partisan perspective and with flexible, engaging seminar material, we provide a platform for 3rd and 4th ESO students to express their views and discuss current European issues. Participants can choose from the following crash course topics: Europe, Media, Participation, Climate Justice, Social Justice
The courses are structured into several workshops, led by young trainers, aiming to spark open discussions on European topics while offering a basic understanding of the European Union. Students work independently in small groups, which allows us to adapt to the different needs within each classroom. An interactive mix of analogue and digital methods is used throughout.
Overall, Understanding Europe helps students enhance their communication skills, teamwork, leadership, initiative, and cooperation.
