Our Universities

At EYP España, our peer-led, volunteer-based university network connects student leaders across Spain around European affairs, policy debate, and civic engagement. We run MEP-style simulations, public-speaking and leadership training, and with faculties and student associations sessions, research workshops, and school outreach, fostering intercultural dialogue, critical thinking, teamwork, networking, and stronger university civil society links.

EYP España, the Spanish branch of this network, has been active since 2006. Every year, we bring together over a thousand young participants through more than a dozen regional, national, and international events held across Spain. Our sessions replicate a parliamentary setting where young people debate pressing European issues, develop critical skills like teamwork, public speaking, and problem-solving, and engage directly with policymakers and experts.

If you are a university Student…

EYP España’s university network offers a peer-led, volunteer-based space to practise European affairs, policy debate, and civic engagement—complementing your studies with real teamwork, public speaking, and leadership experience.

Large-scale evaluations of the EYP experience and the programme’s societal impact based on five International Sessions have shown that the EYP:

  1. Raises awareness and fosters active citizenship: most participants report better understanding of European decision-making; 90% feel more willing to engage in society/politics; ~99% feel motivated to address issues affecting people and the environment around them.
  2. Promotes intercultural understanding: 94% say they learned to recognise and respect different perspectives.
  3. Builds transferable skills: participants report gains in public speaking (84%), opinion-formation and expression (86%), and English proficiency (72%).
  4. Supports personal and professional development: many indicate clearer insights into potential study and career paths following participation. European Youth Parliament
